RAMAPO PICKED TO FINISH 5th IN THE NORTH DIVISION

Mahwah, NJ:  The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced this morning the women's basketball pre-season coaches poll which put the Lady Roadrunners finishing the 2008-2009 season in 5th place of the North Division.

The Lady Roadrunners finished last season with a 4-21 overall record, but this season, under the direction of first year Head Coach Mike Eineker, Ramapo looks to make a move up the NJAC standings.

Eineker spent four years at the helm of the women's program at FDU-Florham become joining the Ramapo College staff.  He led the Devils to a 61-48 overall record. Last season (2007-2008), Eineker led the Devils to a program-high 18 wins, setting the best win percentage in school history in 2005-2006, when his team went, 17-9 overall (.654). Eineker led his team to three ECAC Championship Tournament appearances, and two appearances in the Freedom Conference Championship Tournament. Last season, the Devils defeated King's in the semi-finals, 56-47, before recording a heartbreaking loss to DeSales, 75-60, falling just short of the championship crown.

Eineker's career head coaching record stands at 85-77 overall.

The Roadrunners return ten players from the 2007-2008 roster including senior guard Lauren Moschel (Fair Lawn, NJ), who led the team in points with 239, and assists with 58.  Beth Weinmann (Pompton Plains, NJ), the team's leading rebounder, recorded 7.7 boards per game, 193 total on the year.

With seven new faces, Ramapo's roster stands at 17, with newcomers Lindsey Gripenburg (Bloomingdale, NJ) and Aubrey LaRezza (Montvale, NJ) hungry and excited to get the season underway.

The Roadrunners open the 2008-2009 season on Saturday, November 15th when they travel to St. Mary's College of Maryland for the Seahawk Tip-Off Tournament.  Ramapo tips off against St. Mary's at 2:00 PM.
