Mahwah, NJ: Freshman forward
Rob Santaniello (Oakland, NJ) has been tabbed as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year for the 2009 season, voted in by coaches of the New Jersey NCAA Division III conference.
Santaniello, also named to the NJAC First Team All-Conference, led the Roadrunners in goals with 16, third on the all-time leader board, and points with 38. He contributed six assists on the year, second on the team, while been honored as NJAC Rookie of the Week on three occasions, and NJAC Offensive Player of the Week during the first week of the 2009 season.
Along with Santaniello, junior midfielder
Zach Theinert (Jamesburg, NJ) was named as a member of the NJAC 2nd Team All-Conference while junior
Jim Clementi (Shawnee, NJ) and senior
Justin Stone (Marlboro, NJ) earned NJAC Honorable Mention honors. Theinert and Clementi were key to the Roadrunner defense while Stone was a threat up top netting six goals and contributing three assists for 15 points.
