The Ramapo College softball team finished their season with a 26-11 overall record, 11-7 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Roadrunners began their season the week of March 14th -19th in Osceola, Florida at the Rebel Spring Games going undefeated for the first time under the direction of Head Coach Ben Allen, with a 10-0 record.

The Roadrunners shutout Mount Union in their first game, 3-0 before downing Geneva, 2-1.  They held off Utica, 4-2, before coming from behind to defeat Springfield 6-1 on day two. Ramapo won their first extra inning game of the season against St. Norbert, 2-0 in eight innings, before slipping by Millikin, 3-2. On March 18th they defeated Hope, 3-2 in eight innings before shutting out Fontbonne, 5-0. On the final day at the Rebel Spring Games, Ramapo defeated Anderson, 5-1 and Wisconsin-Stout, 9-1 to wrap up their spring trip.  The teams win against Anderson was Allen's 300th career coaching victory.

The Roadrunners would travel to Albright on April 25th and come away with a double header sweep, 1-0 and 15-0, before having their win streak snapped by NJAC rival Rowan on March 28th. The Profs swept Ramapo, 0-2 and 1-5 in the Roadrunners home opener. Ramapo hosted NJAC rival Montclair State as they won the opener 5-4, before falling in the second game 2-3. On the road against William Paterson, Ramapo shut out the Pioneers, 12-0, before falling 3-5. Ramapo then swept double headers from New Jersey City, 2-1 in eight innings and 10-2, Rutgers-Camden, 5-4, 3-2, and 9-1 and 13-5 against Rutgers-Newark on the road.

In a tight non-conference match-up against Moravian, Ramapo came away with a 4-3, nine-inning victory in game one before falling in game two, 2-5. The Roadrunners split against TCNJ, 4-3 in nine innings before being shut out 0-4. They split with Hunter 8-0 and 5-6 before being swept by Kean, 0-1 and 4-5. The Roadrunners swept NJAC foe Stockton on the final day of the regular season, 4-1 and 4-2.

Ramapo finished fourth in the NJAC and would receive the #4 seed in the 2009 NJAC Tournament. Ramapo was on the road against #3 seeded College of NJ as they fell to the Lions, 1-2 in eight innings. They would travel to #1 Rowan on May 1st and avenge the early season sweep by the Profs as the Roadrunners posted a 3-0 shutout. Ramapo would fall to #6 Montclair State, 0-2 in their final game of the season to end their hopes of the programs first NJAC Title. The Roadrunners failed to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time in three seasons.

Head Coach Ben Allen returns all but two to his 2010 roster. Congratulations and good luck to seniors Marilee Farmer and Kelly Schriber. Congratulations to all on a job well done!

Senior Marilee Farmer (Toms River, NJ) posted a .259 average (29-112) while scoring 15 runs and knocking in 19 RBI. She ripped five doubles and three home runs while walking 12 times. Senior Kelly Schriber (Montclair, NJ) was 33-115 for a .287 average. She scored 17 runs while knocking in 17. She led the team with four home runs. Junior Katie Donnelly (North Haledon, NJ) posted a team high 42 hits with a .313 average. She stole 18-21 bases to lead the team while scoring 26 runs. She posted a team high three triples. Sophomore Brittney McKeon (Toms River, NJ) was second on the team in batting average with .329 (28-85). She posted a perfect fielding percentage while scoring nine runs and knocking in seven. Sophomore Rachel Wong (Livingston, NJ) posted a .325 batting average (38-117) while leading the team in doubles with 13. She scored a team leading 28 runs and knocked in 21 RBI. Rookie Danielle Rothenberger (Livingston, NJ) led the team with a .353 average (30-85) while scoring 11 runs and knocking in 15 RBI. She ripped nine doubles, one triple and two home runs. Rookie Tiffany Fischer (Woodcliff Lake, NJ, NJ) posted 33 hits on 104 at-bats for a .317 average. She scored 18 runs while knocking in 14 and was 4-4 in stolen bases.

Sophomore Deanna Giordano (Clifton, NJ) led the team on the mound with a 0.85 ERA and a 15-5 record. She made 21 appearances with 19 games started, and 19 complete games, with five shutouts. She recorded 118 strikeouts in 140.2 innings pitched with only 16 walks as opponents batted .200 against her. Sophomore Lyndsay Buehler (River Vale, NJ) posted a 2.33 ERA while going 10-6 on the mound. She posted two shutouts while striking out 98 batters in 90 innings of work. She made 17 appearances with 16 games started. Rookie Lauren Shaw (Wayne, NJ) made seven appearances on the mound while going 1-0. She started two games with one combined shutout. In 21 innings pitched she struck out 13 and only walked three.
