Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's and women's basketball teams are both headed to the 2010 New Jersey Athletic Conference playoffs. Both teams will travel to Rowan University this Saturday for a first round game.
The NJAC champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Tickets for the games are, $5 for adults and $2 for students, children and senior citizens. Both contests will be available via live video. You can view the women's game by clicking

The men's team finished the year 17-8 overall, 7-6 in the conference and earned the north's number three seed. They will travel to the number two seed in the south, Rowan, on Saturday for a 4:00 PM game. This is the eighth appearance in the tournament for the Roadrunners. They captured the conference crown during the 2006-2007 and 2004-2005 seasons.
Ramapo defeated the Profs in Glassboro on January 13th, 95-87 in overtime. They were led by sophomore
LaQuan Peterkin (Paterson, NJ) who tallied 25 points and pulled down 12 boards. Sophomore
Davian Plunkett (Paterson, NJ) also posted a double-double as he grabbed a team high 16 rebounds and scored 14 points. Sophomore
Anthony LoRusso (Mahwah, NJ) scored 24 points while senior
Andre Kenny tallied 13 points, six rebounds and five assists.
So far this season Peterkin is leading the team with, 405 total points and 16.2 points per game. He is second on the team in rebounds with 203 and posted 24 blocks. Kenny is second on the team in scoring with 348 points, 16.6 points per game and has tallied 122 rebounds and dished out a team high 92 assists.
The women's team finished the regular season with a 11-14 overall record, 4-9 in the conference and earned the north's number three seed. They will travel to the number two seed in the south, Rowan, on Saturday for a 1:00 PM game. This is the first time the Lady Roadrunners have made the playoffs since the 1992-1993 season.
Ramapo fell to the Profs by five points, 71-66 during the season on the road. The Roadrunners were led by rookie
Meghan Reilly (Morganville, NJ) who tallied 15 points and grabbed six boards while fellow classmate
Alexa Ryan (Hazlet, NJ) posted 13 points and seven boards while dishing out two assists and grabbing three steals. Junior
Danielle Beam (Middletown, NJ) posted a double-double as she scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Reilly has led Ramapo this season scoring 369 points, 14.8 per game while pulling down 160 rebounds, 6.4 per game. Ryan has scored 193 points and dished out 39 steals and grabbed 25 steals. Junior
Stephanie Cannizzaro (Pequannock, NJ) tallied 184 points while dishing out 42 assists and grabbed 23 steals and 64 rebounds while blocking 20 shots. Rookie
Faith Flannery (Red Bank, NJ) leads the team with 23 blocked shots, she has scored 178 points while dishing out 60 steals and grabbing 93 rebounds. Beam is leading the team with 178 rebounds while scoring 163 points. Junior
Brittany Hoffman (Belford, NJ) dished out a team high 79 assists while scoring 92 points and grabbing 37 steals.
