Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's swim team defeated the Pioneers of William Paterson University tonight, 179-83. The Roadrunners improve to 7-2 overall and even their NJAC record to 2-2. The Roadrunners won 13 events in the win.

Stephen Fox (Freehold Twp., NJ) took home wins in the 100-yard backstroke, 54.37, 200-yard backstroke, 2:01.70, 100-yard butterfly, 56.05 and he was the lead off leg of the 200-yard medley relay in which Ramapo captured first place in 1:42.09.

Robert Stein (Sloatsburg, NY) placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke, 1:04.22 while David Nehls (Oakland, NJ) took third (1:05.85) and Kyle Plucinsky (Denville, NJ) placed fourth (1:06.12). Stein placed second in the 200-yard IM in 2:14.85 while Mike Waterhouse (Eastampton, NJ) placed second in the 100-yard butterfly in 56.13.

Peter Polgar (Wayne, NJ) captured first place in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.84 while Waterhouse placed third (23.28) and Terry Hubert (Howell, NJ) (23.59) came in fourth place.

Rookie Andrew English (Lincoln Park, NJ) was the lead leg for "B" team in the 200-yard medley relay as they placed third overall in 1:47.80. He took home first place in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:11.38 and the 200-yard IM in 2:07.59

Frank Patierno (Boonton Twp., NJ) and Geoff Richter (Cherry Hill, NJ) went 1-2 in the 100-yard freestyle in 50.84 and 50.87 respectively while Polgar took fourth in 53.18. Richter also took home first place in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:09.38 while Johnny Olsson (Stockholm, Sweden) placed third in 5:26.90.

The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to the MET Conference Championships hosted by Rutgers University on February 19th-21st.
