Mahwah, NJ: After transferring to Ramapo College from the University of Louisville, junior
Shaquan Brown (Paterson, NJ) has made his mark as one of the top competitors on the Roadrunner track and field team in just a short time.
While at Kennedy High School in Paterson, New Jersey, Brown set a national record for running the 600-meter dash in 1:17.9, a record that still stands today. Brown is ranked fifth on the indoor Division III list, and will make his way to this weekend's NCAA Division III National Championship schedule for Friday and Saturday at DePauw University located in Greencastle, Indiana, to compete in the 400-meter dash.
At the 2010 NJAC Championships, where his team placed 2nd overall, Brown t
ook home a first place ribbon in the 400-meter dash finishing the race in 48.53. Brown's time was a IC4A Qualifier/NCAA Provisional time and a new indoor school record for Ramapo.
Brown is no rookie to the NCAA scene. In 2007-2008, Brown was a member of the 4x100 team that placed 5th overall earning the individuals NCAA All-American honors.
