7-2 Overall, 2-2 NJAC

The Ramapo College men’s swim team finished their 2009-2010 season standing at 7-2 overall, 2-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.

The Roadrunners traveled to the College of NJ in their first NJAC meet of the season where the host dominated in a 160-91 win before Ramapo bounced back with two victories. They picked up wins over Drew, 169-32 and Montclair State, 147-110, their first NJAC win of the season. The Roadrunners fell to 154.5-107.5 to Rowan in only their second loss of the season before they went on a five meet win streak. They defeated College of Staten Island, 162-94, Pace, 89-29, Bridgeport, 78-38, King’s, 96-18 and NJAC rival William Paterson, 179-83.

The Roadrunners finished in ninth place overall at the 2010 Metropolitan Conference Championships hosted by Rutgers University.

The Roadrunners had strong performances throughout the season. Stephen Fox (Freehold Twp., NJ) qualified for the NCAA Championships in the "A" final when he placed fourth overall at the METs in the 100-yard backstroke, narrowly missing an invite to the 2010 NCAA Championships. Terry Hubert (Howell, NJ) also had a strong finish at the METs, he finished in 22.28 in the "C" final in the 50-yard freestyle, 24th overall and Peter Polgar (Wayne, NJ) finished in 26th place, 22.22. Geoff Richter (Cherry Hill, NJ) placed 13th overall in the 200-yard freestyle in the "B" final with a time of 1:46.52. Johnny Olsson (Stockholm, Sweden) clocked in at 1:52.22 for 35th place overall in the same event. Richter also placed 15th overall in the "B" final of the 500-yard freestyle in 4:54.37 while Olsson clocked in at 5:06.12 for 20th place in the "C" final. Mike Waterhouse (Eastampton, NJ) placed 17th overall in the "C" final when he clocked in at 56.00 in the 100-yard backstroke while Andrew English (Lincoln Park, NJ) placed 13th overall in the "B" final with a time of 2:01.89. Robert Stein (Sloatsburg, NY) placed tenth overall in the "B" final (1:02.06), Frank Patierno (Boonton Twp., NJ) finished in 15th place (1:03.28) and David Nehls (Oakland, NJ) placed 16th (1:03.45). In the "C" final, Kyle Plucinsky (Denville, NJ) finished in 17th place (1:03.92) while Jared McGrath (Edgewater, NJ) placed 17th overall (1:04.57).
