5-6 Overall, 1-3 NJAC
The Ramapo College women's swim team finished their 2009-2010 season standing at 5-6 overall, 1-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
The swim team fell to NJAC rival the College of NJ, 188-61 to open the season before picking up a 146-26 win over Drew. The Roadrunners fell to Montclair State and Rowan before defeating the College of Staten Island, 140-79. In a dual meet against East Stroundsburg and the College of St. Elizabeth, Ramapo defeated St. Elizabeth, 67-28 while falling to East Stroudsburg, 72-23. In their second dual meet of the season, the Roadrunners were swept by Pace and University of Bridgeport, 97-40 and 77-41 respectively.
Ramapo bounced back and won their final two meets of the season. They defeated King's, 115-62 before dominating William Paterson in their final NJAC meet of the season, 159-99. At the 2010 Metropolitan Championships, the Roadrunners came in ninth place overall.
At the METs,
Brenda Slazyk (Clifton, NJ) clocked in at 57.44 in the "C" final of the 100-yard freestyle for 23rd overall. She also placed 16th overall in the "B" final of the 100-yard backstroke in 1:05.19.
Jenny Lo (Toms River, NJ) placed 17th overall in 1:04.24 in the same event while
Jaclyn Bondarenko (Wayne, NJ) placed 28th overall in 1:08.25. Slazyk also placed 16th overall in the 100-yard butterfly in the "B" final with a time of 1:03.86.
Chelsey Neders (Coopersburg, PA) recorded her best time of the season in the 200-yard freestyle when she clocked in at 2:02.87 in the "C" final and 18th place overall. Neders also placed 19th overall in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:26.58 while
Lauren Morgan (Allendale, NJ) placed 27th (5:38.83) and
Bethany Wozniak (Bayville, NJ) placed 29th (5:40.42) and
Rachel Chipolone (Fair Lawn, NJ) finished in 41st place in 6:05.77. In the 200-yard backstroke, Morgan and Bondarenko posted times of 2:27.19 and 2:28.07 respectively to finish in 26th and 27th place overall.
Megan Robb (Blackwood, NJ) and
Stephanie Sinck (Bridgewater, NJ) placed 19th (1:11.66) and 21st (1:12.17) in the "C" final of the 100-yard breaststroke. In the 200-yard breaststroke, three Roadrunners placed in the "C" final, Lo took 18th place overall in 2:35.61. Robb and
Lindsey Poandl (Middlesex, NJ) placed 20th (2:36.51) and 23rd (2:40.88) respectively. In the 200-yard IM, Lo placed 28th (2:22.19) while Robb placed 37th (2:28.78) and Sinck placed 38th in 2:28.88. The 400-yard freestyle relay team made up of Slazyk, Neders, Morgan and Lo placed eighth overall in the "A" final with a time of 3:52.08. The 200-yard freestyle relay team made up of Sinck, Morgan,
Lindsey Poandl and Neders, finished second in the "B" final and tenth overall with a time of 1:48.62. The 800-yard freestyle relay team finished eighth overall in 8:29.91, Slazyk, Morgan, Wozniak and Neders made up the team.
