Second Place NJAC Championships, 14th Place NCAA Regional
The Ramapo College men’s cross country team posted another solid season with a second place finish at the 2010 NJAC Cross Country Championships and placed 14th overall finish at the NCAA Atlantic Regional.
They opened the 2009 season in West Point, NY at the Army Open where senior Kyle Price led Ramapo with a tenth place overall finish as he clocked in at 16:50.40. Junior Andrew Capizzi placed second overall for the Roadrunners, finishing the race in 16th place in 16:56.10. At the Fordham Invitational, Ramapo finished in eighth place overall before finishing in first place at the Running of the Bears NYIT XC Invitational. Price was once again Ramapo’s top finisher and also the top division III athlete. At the Paul Short Invitational the Roadrunners finished in 30th place overall while they finished in second place at the Cabrini Invitational.
The Roadrunners took home a third place finish at the CTC Championships with 74 points. Price and rookie Tim Paziora were the top finishers, Price crossed the finish line in second place overall in 26:21 while Paziora came in ninth place in 26:51. At the 2010 NJAC Cross Country Championship hosted by Stockton College. Price captured the NJAC men’s individual title with a winning time of 26:21.88. This is Ramapo’s first individual champion in school history and first time in conference history that a runner from Ramapo has won the event. For his efforts in 2009, Price was named NJAC Runner of the Year. In addition, this was the team's highest overall finish in school history. Capizzi took home a third place finish with a time of 26:45.09. Senior Jon Lindenauer crossed the finish line in tenth place in 27:32.52 while junior Clifton Shambry (Millville, NJ) took home a 16th place finish in 27:54.28. Rookie Daniel Sewnig (Yardville, NJ) placed 26th overall (28:46.63) and Tim Paziora (Newton, NJ) finished in 31st place (28:53.09). Junior Ken Walsh (Point Pleasant, NJ) was Ramapo’s final runner to earn points when he finished in 39th place overall in 29:37.70.
At the 2009 NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Cross Country Championships hosted by SUNY Geneseo. Ramapo tallied 384 points to finish in 14th place overall out of 38 teams. Price finished first for Ramapo and earned NCAA All-Region honors after he came in 29th place overall with a time of 26:04.0.
