Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team was picked to finish eighth in the 2010 NJAC Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll released today by commissioner Terry Small of the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
Under the direction of seventh year head coach,
DJ Pinton, the Roadrunners have posted a 65-37-11 overall record in his six-year stint with the team. Last season, anchored by juniors
Zach Theinert and
Jim Clementi, the Roadrunners finished the year at 10-5-2 overall.
Besides the return of Theinert and Clementi, who both were honored by the NJAC as Second Team and Honorable Mention All-Conference Team members respectively, Pinton returns
Rob Santaniello, who was named to the NJAC First Team All-Conference, ECAC Metro Region All-Star First Team, and NSCAA/NCAA Division III All-South-Atlantic Region Second Team, while earning the title of 2009 NJAC Rookie of the Year last season. Santaniello scored a team leading 16 goals while contributing six assists for a team high 38 points. His also led the team with four game winning goals. In addition, Pinton looks to fill his 2010 roster with a combination of his 16 returning players from the 2009 roster, and a long list of newcomers and transfers.
The Roadrunners open up the 2010 season on the road with a non-conference match-up with Gordon College on September 1st at 3:00pm.
