The Ramapo College Women's Cross Country Team had another successful season placing 4
th at the NJAC Championships and 23
rd at the NCAA Atlantic Regional.
The Roadrunners started the 2012 season in West Point, NY at the Army Cross Country Open where
Courtney Schofield finished first for Ramapo clocking in at 21:52 placing 9
th overall. At the Fordham Fiasco, the Lady Roadrunners placed 6
th overall for non-Division I teams before hosting the first Annual Roadrunner Cross Country Invitational at Garret Mountain Reservation. There, Ramapo placed 1
st overall propelled by Schofield who clocked in at 19:57:5. Rookies
Brianna Springsteadah and
Deanna Dragone placed 2
nd and 3
rd respectively, helping to lead the team to the meet title.
Outpacing over 35 teams, the Roadrunners clinched 4
th at the prestigious Paul Short Run (White Division) before traveling to the Connecticut College Cross Country Invitational, where they placed 9
th overall in a field of 22 teams.
With 98 points, Ramapo finished 4
th overall at the 2012 NJAC Championships behind a stellar performance from Schofield who placed 12
th overall in 23:45:01. The Roadrunners concluded their 2012 season at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Cross Country Championships earning the 23
rd spot.
Springsteadah and
Emily Brock were named NJAC Rookies of the Week for their performances at the Roadrunner Invitational and the Connecticut College Cross Country Invitational respectively. For her efforts this season, Schofield was awarded NJAC Second Team All-Conference honors.
