Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's tennis team dropped a tough, 6-3 decision today to the Knights of Mt. St. Mary College. With the loss the Roadrunners fall to 2-3 overall.
Justin Gerstl posted a point for the Roadrunners at first singles, when he earned a 6-3, 6-3 win over Greg Jacob, and
Evan Clayton grabbed a second Ramapo point in the second singles position, defeating Nate Dimmie, 1-6, 6-4, 10-8. It was
Jacob Khodakov at third singles that posted Ramapo's final point of the match, defeating Stat Willand, 6-1, 6-4.
Gerstl and Khodakov paired up at first doubles and fell short, 8-3, while Clayton and
Matt Giuliari fell at second doubles, 8-2.
Miles Murphy and
Jacob Wyble dropped a tough 9-8 (4-0) contest in the third doubles position.
Mike Balokoz, Dan Witke, and Conor Merryman, all proved to be too much for the Roadrunners in singles action. Balokoz earned a 0-6, 6-3, 6-0 win at fourth singles, Witke posted a 6-3, 6-4 win in the fifth singles position, and Merryman posted a win of his own at sixth singles, 6-0, 6-3, giving the Knights the 6-3 win over Ramapo.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, March 30th, when they host Hunter College at 1pm.
