Chi Alpha Sigma
This is the National College Athletic Honor Society which was founded in 1996 and chartered here at Ramapo College of New Jersey in August of 2005. Membership is awarded to those student-athletes who have a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.4 or higher. Selection for membership is also based on the following criteria; earning of a Varsity athletic letter, excellent character and solid citizenship. This award is presented to juniors and seniors.
Dean’s List
Offered by Ramapo College and given to any student that receives a 3.5 semester GPA.
Individual Academic All-American Honors
Each coaching association offers student-athletes the opportunity to receive Academic All-American recognition.
Team Academic All-American Honors
Each coaching association also offers athletic teams the opportunity to receive Team Academic All-American recognition.
Ramapo College Athletics – Scholar Athlete Award
This awarded is presented to the male and female with the highest individual overall GPA. This student-athlete must be a graduating student.
Ramapo College – Team with the Highest GPA Recognition
This recognition is presented at the Senior Athlete’s Banquet to the team that has compiled the highest cumulative GPA throughout the calendar year.
Director of Athletics All-Academic Team
This recognition is given to athletes on three tiers. The First Team is comprised of student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. The Second Team is comprised of student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.0-3.499. The Honorable Mention Team is comprised of student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 2.5-2.99.
New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Awards
This recognition is given to one male and one female for First-Team Academic All-Conference as well as one male and one female for Second-Team Academic All-Conference with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 and completion of a minimum of twenty-four credits. These students cannot be a “true” freshman or first-year transfer students. The Honorable Mention Team is comprised of any athlete who has a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
